When my good friend and fellow content creator in the food space SnachWithZach<\/a> broke the news that Quaker would be releasing Maple Bacon Oatmeal, I knew it was something I needed to track down! It seems to be exclusive to Walmart\u2014though it\u2019s worth mentioning that not every<\/em> Walmart carries it. I checked several and hunted for a few weeks, but I finally found a box and am ready to give it a try to see if it lives up to my high expectations of all things bacon.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pros: <\/strong>It\u2019s edible. It\u2019s funny to put that in the \u201cpro\u201d section, but when I opened the packaging up, I was immediately hit with a wave of artificial bacon that had me questioning my purchase. Luckily, it didn\u2019t taste the way it smelled. I did finish the bowl. And the maple flavor is very pleasant and not too sweet.

Cons: <\/strong>I\u2019ve never been one to take the pictures on food packaging too <\/em>literally, but this box shows pictures of bacon on the oatmeal. So, I was hoping there would at least be bacon bits mixed into the oatmeal or something. Alas, the only bacon is the artificial flavoring and I\u2019ve got to be completely honest with you; you can barely taste it. This is Maple Bacon<\/em> <\/strong>Oatmeal. I can\u2019t help but feel disappointed that they skimped on the bacon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All and all, it\u2019s an interesting concept, but Quaker unfortunately just doesn\u2019t really deliver on the bacon. It\u2019s similar enough to Quaker Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal that I can\u2019t see myself seeking out Maple Bacon again.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n\n\n\n
