It\u2019s the most wonderful time of the year: Alani Nu has launched a new wintery energy drink! We\u2019ve been waiting very un-patiently for this one ever since it first leaked online<\/a> back in September. This release was especially intriguing since the flavor was a total mystery\u2014at first<\/em>. That\u2019s right, we\u2019ve got new developments regarding this mystery flavor! Alani Nu themselves aren\u2019t announcing the flavor because, quote, \u201cWe don\u2019t want to ruin the holiday magic.\u201d But luckily, a leaked Alani Nu graphic I found online described the flavor as \u201cCoco Berry Bliss.\u201d Read on to find out whether this Alani Nu new flavor is truly as blissful as they\u2019d like us to think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pros:<\/strong> The coconut flavor is much stronger than the berry flavor, that\u2019s for sure. I really like this flavor, but I\u2019m a sucker for coconut. I had a few of my Alani Nu-loving test subjects try this flavor, to mixed results. Most people liked it, but the folks that didn\u2019t like it really<\/em> didn\u2019t like it. Someone in that latter group described it as \u201csunscreen flavored\u201d and I see where they\u2019re coming from. This doesn\u2019t strike me as wintery in any way, but maybe they\u2019re going for some kind of wistful \u201cremember how summer feels\u201d thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cons: <\/strong>In my initial coverage<\/a> of Alani Nu Winter Wonderland, I wrote the following sentence:<\/em> \u201cI don\u2019t imagine Alani Nu would transparently rip a flavor profile from another company.\u201d This was referring to the idea that Winter Wonderland might try to duplicate a previous Red Bull Winter Edition. Folks? I\u2019ve never been more wrong. Because this isn\u2019t a one-to-one replication of a previous Red Bull Winter<\/em> Edition\u2014it\u2019s a dupe of a normal Red Bull flavor<\/em>. Specifically, my favorite year-round Red Bull, the one that comes in a white can: Coconut Berry. No wonder Alani Nu isn\u2019t revealing that the flavor is Coco Berry Bliss, because that\u2019s practically already taken by another energy drink. I\u2019m truly at a crossroads. I like this seasonal Alani Nu flavor quite a bit, but it\u2019s not as good as the energy drink it\u2019s trying to replicate and<\/em> it\u2019s super off-brand for the season. Would it have been so hard to just do cranberry?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
